The rusting hulls, loaded with explosives, are a grim reminder of how extreme weather can rewrite history. And in British Columbia, event organizers are being forced to rethink everything. Music festivals, farmers markets, and outdoor weddings are now building smoke shelters, installing HEPA filters, and shifting schedules to early morning hours when air quality is usually better. Tourism operators are also offering flexible cancellation policies tied to air quality alerts, hoping to keep visitors coming despite the hazy skies. It is a new reality, and adapting is no longer optional.
